Mumbai, 25th August, 2016: The aesthetics of designers Jasonanshu for their label ‘The Small Shop’ have always had a vibrant painterly, whimsical, languid feel with sustainability being the highlight of the garments. At 6Degree Stage One during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 their collection of 12 ensembles called ‘Planet Love’ was a limited edition line that portrayed a fine balance between unique hand work and natural fabrics. The soft drapes of the clothes were artistic with each garment telling its individual story. When it came to colours, the mood was soft and gentle, while the silhouettes were easy, breezy, in fabrics that remained true to the natural weave.
The entire room beamed with a subtle neon glow that elevated the atmosphere, while a few pieces were artistically tangled with planets and hearts. The models stood on podiums showcasing the garments with their finer details highlighted skilfully.
The style line and cut comprised shifts with capris, bomber jackets, dresses with hoodies teamed up with colourful textured stockings. Tiffany blue heart printed crêpe shirt had tasselled collar details and buttons that was layered with a colourful classic slip dress. A shift dress was textured in hues of blue with flamingo patchwork scattered at the bottom along with a fuchsia asymmetrical jacket made an impact on the audience. A dress with different panels stitched together created a very up-cycled textile art.
The entire collection had a watercolour effect with tones of space blue, fuchsia pink, purple, soft grey and black with fabrics like silk and crêpe. The look consisted of flicks of coloured hair, quirky headgears, arm bracelets, and floral anklets.
If it is fashion and style the buyers are looking for, where the local artistic artisans work is skillfully revealed with natural hues and textiles, Jasonanshu’s ‘Planet Love’ had garments that were reinvented perfectly for the coming season.
