It’s official—the Duchess of Cambridge has landed in New York City. Today Catherine’s husband—the dashing Prince William—travels to Washington, D.C., to meet with President Barack Obama in addition to speaking at the World Bank, and Kate has an equally packed schedule, joining Chirlane McCray at the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem, followed by a lunch hosted by the British Consul General. And while we know the duchess has shown a particular penchant for frocks from Alexander McQueen and L.K.Bennett, we would love for her to embrace some of Seventh Avenue’s royalty in the form of a billowing dress from Oscar de la Renta, paired with a printed coat from Emilia Wickstead—she does have to fly the sartorial British flag after all! But Kate’s true colors will shine later tonight at the Brooklyn Nets game where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will sit courtside—potentially with American rock royalty Jay Z and Beyoncé—in a classic, all-American look: jeans and a Breton stripe sweater.
