It’s been a few seasons now since Kendall Jenner cemented her official fashion status with her first walk down the Chanel runway. Since then, she’s been a star presence in designer Karl Lagerfeld’s model army—and this morning’s couture show was no exception. For the occasion, Jenner let hairstylist Sam McKnight fit her with a sharply angular, slightly futuristic black bob that tapered from above the nape of the neck to a cheekbone-grazing length. Offering a modern nod, perhaps, to Coco’s signature haircut, it imparted a radical symmetry to Jenner’s pillowy features, which makeup artist Tom Pecheux transformed using a high-impact red lip, washes of bold blush, and inky power brows.
But it was after closing the house’s Grand Palais show that Jenner did what she does best and put her own real-world spin on the directional beauty look. She let her dark hair down, sidelining her wig in favor of a swingy high ponytail and crisp head-to-toe whites that winked at her tailored finale suit—but kept the bold red lip. Because, in Jenner’s world, nothing makes a monochromatic palette sing quite like a swipe of crimson pigment.
