Spending your Friday slumped over in your frigid cubicle, twiddling your thumbs, and longfully looking out the window at passersby? Perfect! Let’s use this time to plan your great escape: a weekend of basking in the sun’s rays with the beau, friends, or solo.
The first step? A swimsuit. Whether or not you’re jumping into the water, you can use it to create a look with some well-chosen additions. “A bathing suit is not just a bathing suit. Want to head from brunch to the beach? Wear it under overalls like a bodysuit,” says Vogue.com Market Editor Chelsea Zalopany. “Also, try an unorthodox coverup; instead of a caftan, wear a light sweater to go with bare legs, or a dress that could easily translate your look to nighttime.” As for the most important accessory of all? A great attitude to kick off your sand-strewn weekend. After all—it’s summer!
